7, Pete Sampras

Pete Sampras is from Maryland. He has started pro career since 1988 with about 64 titles and officially retired in 2002.

He is one of top players to win three of four Grand Slam events. Estimated that he reaches total 14 Grand Slam titles, including 2 titles in Australian slams, 7 titles in Wimbledon slams and 5 US Open slams. Through these achievements, he was considered as one of the best tennis players all the time. Even, he has ever broke the record some times.

In 2007, after 5 years of retirement, he was inducted to the tennis hall of fame. It is a prestigious award for any athlete.

8, Rod Laver

He is an Australia player, however he is close and develops pro career in California since 1962.

During his career, he has ever reached 11 titles in Grand Slam Single and 9 titles in Pro Slam Single. Some outstanding achievements include 3 titles in Australia, 2 titles in French, 2 titles in US Open, 4 titles in Wimbledon, 3 titles in US Pro, 4 titles in Pro Wembley, 1 Pro French and 1 Pro Wimbledon.

He is the only tennis player to win 2 awards in the Grand Slam, including one title in amateur in 1962 and another in pro in 1969. 

Someone praises his achievements as the rockets record because he has reached continuous titles. Furthermore, he is ranked the 1sttop during 5 years (1964-1970). 

By these awards, he is deserved to be voted one of the greatest tennis players all the time.
